Elephant allegedly electrocuted to death in Karnataka

An elephant was allegedly electrocuted to death near Puttila in Dakshina Kannada, Karnataka, on Tuesday, reported ANI. The state forest department is currently investigating the death as per ANI reports.

On May 27, an incident of elephant dying after consuming a fruit laced with fire crackers was reported from the Palakkad district of Kerala. The pregnant wild elephant had been fatally injured after consuming a fruit laced with firecrackers which then exploded in her mouth. The incident had stirred public outrage in the country, with people seeking justice for the elephant.
