England is set to lock horns with India for a five-match T20I series starting Friday. With a hammering Test series defeat, the visitors would want nothing but redemption.

One good thing about England’s T20I squad is that most of them were not part of the Test series. Ben Stokes, Jonny Bairstow and Jofra Archer, who were part of the Test squad, however, would take time to recover. While Bairstow would like to extend his time on the crease and score runs, Archer would want to get back to taking wickets upfront.

Barring a few, Eoin Morgan would be leading a team full of T20I specialists. From number one batsman Dawid Malan to Jason Roy, Jos Buttler and Tom and Sam Curran. While Moeen Ali had his share of success in the Test series, he would want to make some contribution for a winning cause now.

Youngster Malan has scored 855 runs in 19 T20I innings with a brilliant average of 53.43 and needs 145 more runs to get to 1000 runs in the shortest format, according to Cricc Tracker. If he does that in six innings, he will take over Pakistan captain Babar Azam who did it in 26 innings.

England, which is the Top ranked T20I team, leads India by seven points in the ranks and would want to increase that margin ahead of the T20I World Cup.
