Former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar is the latest celebrity to slam international entities for their remarks on the ongoing farmers’ protest in India. This comes after international personalities like Rihanna and Greta Thunberg extended their support for the protest.

The legend took to Twitter on Wednesday to urge his fans to not fall for any false propaganda.

“India’s sovereignty cannot be compromised. External forces can be spectators but not participants. Indians know India and should decide for India. Let’s remain united as a nation. #IndiaTogether #IndiaAgainstPropaganda,” Tendulkar tweeted.

Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) also issued a statement slamming the personalities to “ascertain facts before rushing to comment.”

” Parliament of India, after a full debate and discussion, passed reformist legislation relating to the agricultural sector. These reforms give expanded market access and provided greater flexibility to farmers,” MEA said.

Actor Akshay Kumar reacted to the MEA statement saying, “Farmers constitute an extremely important part of our country. And the efforts being undertaken to resolve their issues are evident. Let’s support an amicable resolution, rather than paying attention to anyone creating differences.”
