Festival fashion: Hey moms-to-be, here are some style tips to flaunt your baby bump in style
- From dresses, kurtas to gowns, maternity wear options are many but when it comes to special occasions, the expectant mothers somehow get confused.
- Try out some boxy silhouettes and layered pieces and look glamorous this festive season, say designers.
- Also, comfort is the key so make sure whatever you are opting for is hassle free and easy to carry
The pregnancy is a lovely phase in a woman’s life and
maternity wear should add to the feeling, it should make one look elegant and
comfortable. So, here’s what designers say.
“Many different styles are available, like tees, tank tops,
blouses and sweaters, and dresses. One can find maternity tops and dresses that
are button-up, sleeveless, have three-quarter sleeves, various lengths and that
have various necklines. Many maternity tops and dresses have empire waistlines
and fabric that gives comfort so that you never feel restricted and works well
for the festive season,” Surbhi Bhatia, Founder & CEO of The Mom Store,
told Opoyi.
One can experiment with “Boxy silhouettes and layered
pieces” as they work best for pregnant women, says designer Gautam Gupta.
” Seeing the festival season one can go for A-line
kurtas, anarkalis and capes, long blouses with skirts and of course saris.
There are softer fabrics, having pieces of cotton blends that suit more. Most
of these designs can be altered later post-pregnancy and can be handy,” he told
Opoyi.
The designer says that while most people will stay home
during this pandemic, it’s no reason to dampen your spirits.
“ Celebrate this new milestone in your life by opting for
beautiful A-line gowns, Anarkali Kurtis that compliment your baby bump and keep
you comfortable at the same time. Also, Pastel colours, two-tone shades are in
vogue this season,” said Bhatia.
She also suggested that one can accessorize the anarkalis
and A-line Kurtis with an upper waist ornate belt that will give you the
perfect fit and compliment your belly!
“Match these dresses with belly support leggings or parallels
and complete your look with the minimal accessory,” she said.
So this festive season, flaunt your baby bump in style.
