Former coach Gary Kirsten names Indian cricketer he found easiest to work with

Gary Kirsten, the Former South African cricketer and the former coach of Indian cricket team, under whom India won the 2011 World cup, has lauded Sachin Tendulkar’s work ethic, saying he is a player easiest to work with. “Sachin (Tendulkar) was easy to work with because he has such a strong value system as a person” Kirsten told TOI in an interview.
“I loved coaching the Indian team. It was one of the best privileges of my life. It was a fantastic journey with the players and very fond memories of the World Cup. There were a lot of expectations from the players to win the World Cup and they handled it incredibly well. Kirsten, who served as the coach Of Indian cricket team between 2008 and 2011, had a brilliant repo with the senior cricketers and is regarded as one of the best foreign coaches who have brought success to India.
A highly accomplished batsman himself, he has been appreciated by several Indian players for teaching them amazing play tactics and polishing their careers. He has also been described as ‘Best thing to happen to Indian cricket’ by MS Dhoni. Kirsten’s love for India remains even after his departure as a team coach right after 2011 World Cup, as he organises camps for budding Indian cricketers, and works with them at the grass root level in order to shape their careers.
