Indian Premier League’s 2021 season is set to start from April 9, with all the eight franchises battling to take home the trophy. While this year, the cash-rich tournament will be played in India, it was played in the UAE last year due to the pandemic conditions in the country.
Mumbai Indians won their fifth title last season, which saw several young talents emerging as match-winners. Both capped and uncapped players gave top performances throughout the season.
With the next IPL season just weeks away, let’s take a look at some of the top performers from last season:
KL Rahul
Although Kings XI Punjab failed to qualify for the play-offs, Rahul finished the season as the highest scorer with 670 runs. He also scored the highest individual score of 132 during the season.
Shikhar Dhawan
Dhawan finished as the second-highest run-getter in the season with 618 runs. The 35-year-old was one of the go to players of a relatively young Delhi Capitals team.
Kagiso Rabada
The purple cap winner of IPL 2020, Rabada finished the season with thirty wickets. He led the DC pace attack with Anrich Nortje who bagged 22 wickets.
Ishan Kishan
The young Mumbai Indians batsman had a brilliant season and was one of the key players for the Mumbai Indians in their successful campaign.
