The
government on Monday issued an advisory, warning people against revealing details
such as Aadhar and OTP to people claiming to be vaccinators, calling senior citizens
for their inoculation.

Taking to
Twitter, the PIB Fact Check handle said that fraudsters posing as officials
from the Drug Authority of India have been calling senior citizens for their
personal details.

“Some #Fraudsters
claiming to be from Drug Authority of India are calling senior citizens to
confirm their Aadhaar and OTP for #COVID19Vaccine allocation. It is an act of
miscreants. Never disclose OTP and personal details to such telecallers,” it
said.

Over 16
lakh healthcare workers have been vaccinated so far, PTI reported, with India
launching the world’s largest vaccination drive on January 16. Over three crore
healthcare and frontline workers have been prioritised to be inoculated in the
first phase.

10 adverse
events have been reported across the country so far.

People will
be able to self-register for vaccination once the Co-WIN app is launched. The
government has not yet clarified when the vaccination for senior citizens will
begin.
