India records 22,889 cases of COVID-19, 338 deaths in last 24 hours

The COVID-19 tally of India on Friday touched 99,79,447 after 22,889 new cases of coronavirus were recorded in the last 24 hours. A total of 338 deaths were reported on Thursday taking the death toll of the country to 1,44,789.
There are currently 3,13,831 active cases of coronavirus in the country and the total number of discharged cases stands at 95,20,827.
The Indian Council of Medical Research on Thursday said that 11,13,406 samples for COVID-19 were tested in the last 24 hours in India and a total of 15,89,18,646 samples for the coronavirus have been tested in the nation up to December 17.
