The Indian cricket team on Saturday landed
in Cape Town to play the series-deciding third Test against South Africa at the Newlands. The
three-match series is currently levelled at 1-1, with India winning the first
Test in Centurion while South Africa bouncing back in the Johannesburg Test
with a remarkable seven-wicket win after captain Dean Elgar played a resolute
96 runs not out at the Wanderers.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India
(BCCI) shared a video revealing India’s journey and their eventual
“touchdown” in Cape Town.

As regular captain Virat Kohli is expected
to return to the XI for the Cape Town Test after missing the second Test due to
an upper back spasm, India will look to fix their problem in the batting
department. In the first and second Test, Indian middle-order batters failed to
fire. Though Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane scored half-centuries and
shared a 111-run partnership in the second innings of the Johannesburg Test, they still have to prove
their worth as batters if India have to win their maiden Test series in South
Africa.

On their arrival in Cape Town, Indian
looked quite relaxed ahead of a crucial game that promises to be a thriller.

In the second Test, KL Rahul led India
since Rohit Sharma, who was appointed Kohli’s deputy in Tests, is undergoing
rehab at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. Rahul will lead India in
the three-match ODI series which will be followed by the Cape Town Test.

Earlier, after losing the second Test, head
coach Rahul Dravid indicated that Kohli would return to the XI afresh. With
Kohli’s return to the XI, there will be a couple of changes in the batting
department. It has to be seen who gets dropped. Hanuma Vihari, who replaced
Kohli in the second Test and played a gritty unbeaten 40 runs innings in the
second innings, deserves more chances, former India cricketer Gautam Gambhir
has said recently.
