Delhi Capitals vs Kolkata Knight Riders: Top 5 moments
- Top 5 moments from the IPL match between Delhi Chargers (DC) cs Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)
- This was the 25th match of the 2021 IPL between the 3rd and 5th placed teams in the IPL points table
- DC won the match following a blistering batting showcase by the talented Prithvi Shaw
1. The “shawman” seals it: This was the Prithvi Shaw, er show. Shaw reminded us of his ability to win games single-handedly. The score at the end of 12 overs – 113/0. Shikhar Dhawan – 40 off 44, Shaw – 79 off 34, required 32 off 42. Game over. Shaw went on to score 82 off 41 and deservedly won the fantasy player, super striker and man of the match awards

2. The Bump: After he was hit for a boundary off his first ball, Shivam Mavi “bumped” Prithvi Shaw. The bump seemed to wake up Shaw, who bashed him for 6 consecutive boundaries that over. He then went on to hammer the rest of the KKR bowlers as well, getting to the fastest half-century this IPL (off 19 balls) and allowing Shikhar Dhawan to play gentle test cricket at the other end.
3. KKR’s MIA top order: The opening batsmen and upper-middle order did not fire for KKR. At the fall of Dinesh Karthik’s wicket, they were 109/6 in 16.2 overs. This left too much to do for Dre and the other batsmen and prevented them from getting to an above-par score.

4. Dre’s deep fireworks: Andre “Danger man” Russell hit 45 runs off 17 balls at the end of KKR’s innings to get them to a respectable score of 154. Without his power hitting, KKR seemed to be headed to a way-under-par score in the range of 135
5. Cummins comes on too late: Pat Cummins running around on the boundary instead of bowling in the first 5 overs was a mystery to everyone. By the time the best bowler in the world came on to bowl in the sixth over, DC were already 66/0.
