IPL 2022: 5 records broken by CSK’s Gaikwad, Conway vs SRH

Chennai Super Kings got back to the winning way on Sunday after a series of defeats. Under MS Dhoni, who led the side for the
first time in IPL 2022, CSK defeated SunRisers Hyderabad by 13 runs. It was
their third win in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2022.

Batting first, CSK posted 202 for 2 in
20 overs thanks to the 182-run opening wicket partnership between Ruturaj
Gaikwad and Devon Conway. Ruturaj Gaikwad played a knock of 99 while Devon
Conway remained unbeaten on 85. Hyderabad got their first wicket after 17.5
overs as T Natarajan removed Gaikwad to deny him a ton. Mukesh Choudhary
scalped took four wickets as CSK restricted SRH to 189/6, registering a win by
13 runs.

SunRisers Hyderabad got an excellent
bowling line-up comprising T Natarajan, Umran Malik, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Marco
Jansen. However, they failed to keep Gaikwad and Conway in check. CSK are ninth
in the points table with six points and they will next square off against Royal
Challengers Bangalore on Wednesday, May 4.

Gaikwad and Conway is the biggest partnership for any wicket by a CSK pair.

*This partnership is also the biggest
for any wicket at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.

registered the highest partnership for the opening wicket in this year’s IPL.
