Mann Ki Baat: PM Modi talks about new museum, water conservation and online payments
- In a radio address on Sunday, PM Modi said that the Pradhan Mantri Sangrahalaya has started to become a popular attraction

In a radio address on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi acknowledged the recently established Pradhan Mantri Sangrahalaya (prime minister’s museum) and said that it has started to become a site of attraction for the youth and is helping in “connecting them with the precious heritage of the country”.
Addressing the country ‘Mann Ki Baat’, a radio show held every month, the Prime Minister shared that he has received several letters about the museum which was inaugurated on the birth anniversary of BR Ambedkar.
“Sarthak ji wrote to me about his visit to the museum. He shared how he has always been good in history but many of the facts he got to know with his visit to the museum were amazing,” he said.

“What will be a better time to remember those who contributed to nation-building than the time when the nation is celebrating Amrit Mahotsav?” he added.
During the address, he also urged the younger generation to pay a visit to the museum and share images and videos of their visit by using #MuseumMemories on social media.

“On 18 May we will celebrate International Museum Day. Let’s celebrate this day by visiting our local museums and sharing our experiences with #MuseumMemories,” the PM said.
During the program, he also covered other topics including the use of online payments and the importance of water conservation.

“Anandita Tripathi wrote to me about her visit to the North East. From Assam to Meghalaya, she was able to complete her trip without taking out cash from any ATM. She was able to complete her trip with cashless payments with UPI,” he said as he urged people to switch to online transactions.
Announcing the launch of a water conservation initiative, PM Modi said: “With a view to ensure rejuvenation of water bodies, we are launching a new initiative called ‘Amrit Sarovar’. It is aimed at developing and rejuvenating 75 water bodies in each district of the country. It is yet another ode towards the celebration of Azadi ka #AmritMahotsav.”
