The bloodsoaked saga that is Mirzapur has been greenlit for a third season by the streaming service Amazon Prime.
The company announced the decision in a press release, according to news website Scroll.
The story that enthralled millions and was watched over 180 countries has already become a classic of local realpolitic and has spawned a handful of memes and catchphrases from its main characters.
The story involves the crime family of Tripathi, the strongmen in the small town of badlands of Uttar Pradesh, who are challenged by the emerging Pandits and another rival family of equal clout, the Shuklas.
The show has become famous for caustic one-liners and brazen display of rustic attitude in all its characters, especially from its main caste that includes Munna Tripathi (Divyenndu), Akhandanand Tripathi (Pankaj Tripathi), Beena Tripathi (Rasika Dugal), Guddu Pandit (Ali Fazal), and Bablu Pandit (Vikrant Massey).
