Aam Aadmi Party candidate Ajit Pal Singh Kohli has won the Patiala (Urban) constituency by defeating Amarinder Singh of Punjab Lok Congress by a margin of 19,873 votes.
Patiala assembly constituency had former Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh of the Punjab Lok Congress taking on Vishnu Sharma of the Indian National Congress and Ajit Pal Singh Kohli of the Aam Aadmi Party this year in the Punjab assembly elections.
Amarinder Singh had won the Patiala seat in 2017, when the Congress swept Punjab. In 2012, Patiala legislative assembly constituency had a total 140314 electors.

Patiala Assembly Constituency is a Punjab Legislative Assembly constituency in Patiala district, Punjab.
Indian National Congress candidate Amarinder Singh won and became MLA from this seat. He secured a total 66041 votes. Shiromani Akali Dal candidate Surjit Singh Kohli stood second with a total 23723 votes. He lost by 42318 votes.

The former Congress candidate had won and became MLA from this seat.
The Patiala assembly constituency will vote in a single phase of the Punjab elections on February 20, 2022, along with 116 other constituencies.
Results will be declared on March 10, along with those for elections in four other states, including neighbouring Uttarakhand.
