Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday
launched a barrage of rhetorical offensives against the Congress and the Dravida
Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) ahead of assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, including
terming former union telecom minister A Raja an ‘outdated 2G missile’. Modi
slammed the latter for insulting mother of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami,
as well as targeting women of the state, reported PTI. “A few days back, this missile
was launched by UPA with a clear order to attack the nari shakti of Tamil Nadu,” said the PM.

“God forbid, if they come to
power, they will insult many other women of Tamil Nadu”, PTI quoted Modi as
saying, as he noted that the same two sides had on Tuesday disrespected mother
of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami.

Reportedly, a few days back Raja,
during his campaign, had spoken of the birth of Palaniswami in a questionable
manner, followed by the ruling AIADMK lodging a police complaint and registering
a case against the DMK leader.

Raja issued an apology to the CM on Monday for his comment against the latter’s deceased mother.

Modi further called on the leadership
of DMK and Congress to control their members, saying the citizens notice
everything and would not bear such insult to the women.
