Prime Minister Narendra Modi takes first dose of COVID-19 vaccine at Delhi’s AIIMS

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was administered the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine at AIIMS, Delhi. “Took my first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at AIIMS. Remarkable how our doctors and scientists have worked in quick time to strengthen the global fight against COVID-19. I appeal to all those who are eligible to take the vaccine. Together, let us make India COVID-19 free,” the PM tweeted.

From Monday, India will also begin its second COVID-19 vaccination drive. Those above 60 years of age would be targeted in this inoculation drive. The health ministry has stated that those above 45 years, but with comorbidities, can also approach government or private hospitals for a vaccine shot.
