CM Ashok Gehlot wins confidence motion in Rajasthan assembly

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Friday won the confidence motion moved in the Assembly with voice vote bringing curtains down over a long political drama in the state. Speaking during the debate, Gehlot said that the “conspiracy to topple my government has failed.” Speaking during the trust vote debate, Sachin Pilot said that issues within the party have been resolved, adding that the Congress stands united. Gehlot’s decision to go ahead for the trust vote was announced at the Congress Legislative Party meeting which was attended by Sachin Pilot who came face-to-face with Gehlot for the first time on Thursday in over a month since he revolted against the CM.
