Russian woman dies by suicide in Vrindavan, police say she wanted to ‘meet Lord Krishna’

A 41-year-old Russian woman died on Saturday after she jumped off her six-story apartment building in Uttar Pradesh’s Vrindavan, Times of India reported. Deceased Tatyana Hmelovskaya was residing at Vrindavan Dham apartment, commonly called the Russian building.

Police told TOI that the woman hailed from Russia’s Rostov city and was staying in India on a tourist visa. She was living alone in her apartment.

Superintendent of Police (SP) MP Singh told the news agency that one of her friends, who lived in the same apartment building, told the police that Hmelovskaya had earlier said she wanted to meet Lord Krishna.

Her body was sent for post mortem and the Russian embassy was informed about it, the SP told TOI.
