Maharashtra’s ruling Shiv Sena’s IT cell has filed a police complaint against Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut over her recent remark in which she compared Mumbai to Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK), ANI reported.

The complaint has been registered at Thane’s Shrinagar Police Station in which the party’s IT cell has sought an FIR to be registered against the actor.

Ranaut landed in a controversy on Thursday when she compared Mumbai to PoK, in a bid to counter Shiv Sena’s Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut who had slammed her over her remarks against the Mumbai Police.

Replying to Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Ram Kadam, who claimed that the Maharashtra government and the Mumbai Police were not providing her protection after her comments on Bollywood-drug mafia nexus, Ranaut had tweeted, “Thank you for your concern sir, I am actually more scared of Mumbai police now than movie mafia goons, in Mumbai I would need security either from HP government or directly from the Centre, No Mumbai police please.”

Raut reacted sharply to her tweet and asked her not to come to Mumbai.

To this, Ranaut tweeted, “Sanjay Raut Shiv Sena leader has given me an open threat and asked me not to come back to Mumbai, after Aazadi graffitis in Mumbai streets and now open threats, why Mumbai is feeling like Pakistan occupied Kashmir?”

The actor drew widespread backlash over her remark.

On Monday, she was provided Y-Plus category security, for which she thanked Home Minister Amit Shah.
