US midterms 2022: How Joe Biden, Donald Trump are spending election day

Scholars often call midterm elections a ‘referendum on the incumbent President’. These elections will also decide which party will attain a majority in Congress, state legislature, and governor’s office.
Current President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump are not on the ballot but this election will shape the politics of the nation. It will affect both men as they might contest each other in the 2024 Presidential elections.
Both of them spent the previous week campaigning for crucial candidates in rallies.

Trump is expected to spend Tuesday, the election day at his residence in the Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach, Florida, watching the election night with friends and advisors.
Earlier on Monday, the night before the election, Trump attended Dayton, Ohio, in support of JD Vance, who is up against Democrat Tim Ryan in a tight race for an open seat in the Senate. Trump attended similar events in Iowa, Pennsylvania, and Florida before.
President Joe Biden, the leader of the Democratic Party, is spending this day in the White House with a full schedule. Karine Jean-Pierre, White House Press Secretary told the reporters that President Biden will have a “robust, pretty heavy schedule here at the White House,” although she refused to disclose further details. A White House official said that the President’s schedule for the day is ‘largely private’. They also confirmed that Biden would watch the election returns on Tuesday evening, accompanied by senior advisors.

Several past Presidents have followed a tradition of giving a press conference to comment on election results after the midterms, though it is unclear if Biden will follow their footsteps and give a press conference in White House on Friday.
