Team India maverick Virat Kohli is celebrating his 34th birthday on Saturday, November 5, 2022. Kohli is currently in Australia as part of the Indian squad that is playing in the T20 World Cup 2022. His birthday also comes a day before India’s final Super 12 match against Zimbabwe, a must-win for the Men in Blue to ensure qualification to the semifinals.

Kohli, along with his wife, popular Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma are one of the most talked-about couples in the B-Town and are often referred to as Virushka. They tied the knot in 2017 and welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Vamika, in 2021.

While Kohli is known for his confidence on the pitch, he once revealed that he never proposed to Anushka, his then-girlfriend and now wife. The revelation came during an old conversation with Indian football team captain Sunil Chhetri.

“When you are in love, every day can be the same as Valentine’s Day and can be special. We never felt we needed to do it that way,” Kohli said.

“We always knew we are going to marry each other. There was never a doubt. Once we knew things are going forward, we were happy and excited to start living together. It all happened organically,” he added.

However, he also revealed that they used several email ids preparing for the 2017 wedding, which was kept a secret till the very final moment.

“We used different names and email id while organising things for our wedding. But, it was not my idea. If it would be in my control, pakka bhaanda foot jaata [I would have revealed everything], from food, decoration and everything,” he joked.

“But, shukar hai [thankfully] I was playing a Test match, they managed to keep it a secret,” the former Indian cricket team captain told Chhetri.

He also went on to credit his wife Anushka Sharma with the hard work and coordination behind the wedding planning in the interview.

“Everyone who came knew it was all done by her [Anushka] and they loved every moment of us being together,” he concluded.
