The Indian Army has deployed its T-90 and T-72 tanks near the Line of Actual Control in the Chumar-Demchok area of Eastern Ladakh, news agency ANI reported on Sunday. Along with the two tanks, the army also deployed BMP-2 Infantry Combat Vehicles that can operate at temperatures up to minus 40 degree Celsius.
This comes amid the border tensions with China, that has been going on for almost five months now.

The T-90 Bhishma Tank, one of India’s heavyweight military vehicles, is considered one of the most reliable tanks in the world. On the other hand, the T-72 tank is a Soviet-designed main battle tank that entered production in 1971.

The BMP-2 Infantry Combat Vehicle will give India extra security as winters hit Ladakh, where temperatures can fall down to minus 35 degrees Celcius.
Recently India and China decided to stop sending more troops to the frontline, refrain from unilaterally changing the situation on the ground, and avoid taking any actions that may further complicate the environment of tension, PTI reported.
