leg-spinner Ish Sodhi took a terrific one-handed catch in follow through to
dismiss Indian skipper Rohit Sharma during the third and the final T20I
against India.
After opting to bat,
Sharma led the team from the front and scored his 30th T20I 50 off 27 balls. On
the second delivery of the 12th over against Sodhi, Sharma stepped out to
play inside out over extra cover but it got off the inside half of the
bat and flew next to Sodhi whose excellent reflex catch off his own bowling.

Sharma scored his
second fifty in the series followed by his scores of 48 and 55 from the first
two matches. He also overtook Virat Kohli’s record of most T20I fifties. Before
the match, both were equal on 29.
In the middle of
India’s innings the scoring rate was slowed down by Mitchell Santner as he
picked three quick wickets of Ishan Ksihan, Suryakumar Yadav and Rishabh Pant.
It was a late blitz from all-rounder Harshal Patel and Deepak Chahar that
helped India post a total of 184 runs on the board.

However, India
registered a comfortable win of 76 runs in the final T20I at the Eden Gardens,
Kolkata. It was a consecutive whitewash in the bilateral T20I series against
the Black Caps.
Now,
both teams will face each other in two Test matches. The teams will land in
Kanpur for the first Test match, which starts on November 25. New Zealand’s
tour will end at Wankhede stadium, where the second Test will be played from
December 3 to 7.

For the first Test
match, Ajinkya Rahane will lead the Indian team and regular captain Virat Kohli
will join for the second Test. After taking a break from the T20I series,
skipper Kane Williamson will join the New Zealand team for the Test matches.
