Ravichandran Ashwin on Monday hit his fifth Test hundred during the third day of India’s second Test against England in Chennai. While Ashwin was visibly happy with the accomplishment and so were the other players and staff in the dressing room, Mohammed Siraj, who was at the non-striker’s end, was the most hyped.
After picking up five wickets in the first innings that helped India reduce the visitors to 134, Ashwin (106) and skipper Virat Kohli helped India extend their lead after half of the team was back in the pavilion and India were struggling at 86/5.
Batting at 99, Ashwin hit a boundary to bring his century. As the dressing room got up to congratulate him, Siraj at the other end was seen fist bumping in the air and celebrating more than Ashwin did.
As the moment was captured on camera, several people took to social media to acknowledge Siraj’s reaction to his fellow player’s success.
Ashwin continued his good form as he picked up another wicket during England’s chase, as the visitors ended day 3 at 53/3.
