The Bandwan (ST) constituency is currently
held by Trinamool Congress candidate Rajib Lochan Saren who defeated Susanta
Besra of the CPI(M) in 2016. The seat, one of West Bengal’s 294 assembly
constituencies, falls under the Jhargram (ST) Lok Sabha constituency.

BJP MP Kunar Hembram currently holds the
Jhargram (ST) Lok Sabha seat, defeating Birbaha Soren of the Trinamool Congress
in the 2019 General Elections.

The Bandwan (ST) seat is one reserved for
the Scheduled Tribe category. The seat, over the years, has seen a multi

constituency being CPI(M), Congress as well as the JMM. The Bandwan (ST)
constituency came into existence in 1962, and has since been held by Congress
four times, and by CPI(M) seven times. JMM (Jharkhand Mukti Morcha), who came
