Indian
cricketer Suresh Raina on Tuesday called for a thorough investigation into the attack
on his relatives in Punjab, which led to the death of his uncle and his cousin.

The
33-year-old pulled out of the IPL last week citing personal reasons.

“What
happened to my family in Punjab was beyond horrible. My uncle was slaughtered
to death, my bua & both my cousins had severe injuries. Unfortunately, my
cousin also passed away last night after battling for life for days. My bua is
still very very critical & is on life support,” Raina tweeted.

“Till date
we don’t know what exactly had happened that night & who did this. I
request @PunjabPoliceInd to look into this matter. We at least deserve to know
who did this heinous act to them. Those criminals should not be spared to
commit more crimes. @capt_amarinder @CMOPb.”

three or four individuals attacked the family who were sleeping at the terrace
of their house in Pathankot’s Thariyal village.

His uncle,
Ashok Kumar, sustained head injuries and died the same night.

Police said the robbers fled with some cash and gold.
