WTC final: Anushka Sharma asks rain in Southampton to ‘come again after 5 days’

Actor Anushka Sharma on Friday expressed her dismay for the rain in Southampton which delayed the opening day’s play of the World Test Championship (WTC) final.
In an Instagram post, she asked the rain to “go away” and “come back after 5 days”. India, led by skipper and Sharma’s husband Virat Kohli, will take on Kane Williamson’s New Zealand in the inaugural WTC final at the Ageas Bowl, Southampton.
This was followed by another Instagram Story where she shared a post by Kohli, featuring the Indian team and wrote, “these guys”, followed by a blue heart emoji.
The opening day’s play in the final was called off because of incessant rains. The confirmation came in after BCCI tweeted, “Unfortunately there will be no play in the first session on Day 1 of the ICC World Test Championship final. #WTC21”
On Thursday, The had dropped a series of black-and-white pictures from the Ageas Bowl. The actor took to Instagram and shared the pictures with the caption, “A ‘take random photos and think of a quirky caption’ kind of post.” In the pictures, Anushka was dressed in a striped long shirt paired with black pants and a face mask.
Virat and Anushka, arrived in Southampton with their daughter Vamika earlier in June.
