Yogi Adityanath is seen abusing in viral video; team says is fake

After a video went viral on Twitter where Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was seen purportedly swearing at a cameraperson of a news agency, the BJP leader’s team shared a fact-check video of the same. Adityanath’s team said that it was fake and doctored audio was inserted into the last few minutes of the video. 

Former UP CM and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav took a dig at Adityanth on Twitter, as without sharing the video, he wrote in Hindi, “Hear the sweet words of ‘Manyavar’ to journalists, but use headphones and Keep away from children!”

The viral video shows Adityanath cursing at a cameraperson of news agency ANI and cuts off after that. In the video, Adityanath was speaking after taking a jab of anti-COVID vaccine, where he thanked the Health Ministry of India and the nation’s scientists.  

Coming to the defence of the UP CM, Adityanath’s media adviser Shalabh Mani Tripathi retweeted many tweets that stated that the video, providing a ‘fact-check’ version of it. One was posted by a Twitter Ramesh Solanki, who shared the ‘fact-check’ video by a website namely ‘Breaking tube’, which claimed that the last second of the viral video was doctored.

The video, which also did rounds on regional news channels in UP, was first shared by retired IAS officer Surya Pratap Singh, who wrote in Hindi, “This is Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s real face…Listen to the language of a saint.”

The video was shared by news agency ANI too, which captioned, “Video byte of UP CM Yogi Adityanath on Covid vaccination (Editors note: Earlier issued Live Sound byte is retracted).”

The “breaking tube” report does not provide other details of the fact check but says that CM Adityanath has ordered a probe into the issue.
