‘You are a champion’: Netizens praise Ajinkya Rahane for his gesture after getting run out

India’s stand-in captain Ajinkya Rahane has been receiving praise for his leadership qualities in the ongoing second Test between India and Australia in Melbourne. Even after getting run-out on Day 3, Rahane’s simple gesture for his batting partner Ravindra Jadeja was so powerful that Twitter was flooded with applaud from impressed fans.

Rahane scored a brilliant 112 while Jadeja was batting at 49 and played a shot off-side against Nathan Lyon and ran for a quick single. Rahane responded to the call but a quick throw from Marnus Labuschagne at short cover saw Tim Paine dislodge the bails in no time.
