Balenciaga has caught the attention of Internet users with its newly launched bag resembling a packet of Lays potato chips but in leather.

According to a Hypebeast report, which Page Six referenced, the bag will retail at about USD 1,800. It is equivalent to INR 1,40,000.

According to Page Six, PepsiCo and Balenciaga creative designer Demna worked together to create a line of bags that resemble Lay’s potato chip packs. The bags made their debut recently during  Paris Fashion Week. The top of the bag has a zip, and in the middle, Balenciaga is imprinted rather than the flavor’s name.

On Instagram, the brand’s official support account, @DemnaGram, also posted glimpses of the bags.

Internet users are left split: some are amused by the quirky collection, while others are disappointed by the new launch. A Twitter user named  @dinmor questioned whether it would be possible to purchase one of the bags.

Another user, @BesitoBeso, made a funny comment, saying that these are just chip bags sewn together.

Balenciaga is a luxury fashion house founded in 1919 in San Sebastian, Spain by Spanish designer Cristóbal Balenciaga. Christian Dior referred to Balenciaga as “the master of us all”, and he was known as a couturier with unwavering standards. His bubble skirts and unusual, feminine yet modern silhouettes became the house’s trademarks. Balenciaga manufactures ready-to-wear, footwear, handbags, and accessories and licenses its name and branding to Coty for fragrances.
