Printed kurtas with pin tucks: Mens wear trends for festive 2020
- We are already soaked in festive fervour, a time when dressing up becomes as important as food
- While women’s wear is all about experimenting with your elegant ethnic wear, men of the house got some trends too
- Curve kurta, nice pin tuck jackets are some of the trends that are making waves in 2020, says designers
Since men have very few options to choose during special occasion, it gets even more difficult to find that one outfit that gives an edgy and distinct look. Designers say that the festive season is the right time when men can flaunt their kurtas and Jackets with their own twist.
“Curve kurta, the modern version of kurta, can be worn with the pants. It has different cuts all along and a jacket is attached to it. We generally see men wearing a normal kurta, but this trend is certainly going to give a modern look. Also, kurtas made in sequence fabric can be easily worn on the occasions like Diwali parties as well as during Durga Puja,” designer Ravi Gupta of the label Gargee Desginer told Opoyi.
He also says that printed kurta paired up with the nice pin-tucked jacket gives a bit more of a formal look.
“A Nehru or Bundy jacket paired up with the kurta and pants can look elegant along with the pants teamed with slippers or sandals which will give men a unique look. The mustard colour combination is in trend,” said Gupta.
A linen blazer, versatile blazer works best for those who are too lazy to explore outfits for the festive season.
“One can always carry blazer in green colour over a simple white shirt paired up with the denim and sneakers. A modern take on old classic safari suits, young men can carry this outfit in their wardrobes,” said the designer.
Megha & Kalpesh Oswal, Owner of brand MeghanKalpesh, says that “pretty pastels teamed with a palette of English blee make a good outfit a great one.
“Our main focus this year is sustainability, to enable our clients to rehash and wear their outfits multiple times. For men, sleek suits with minimal embroidery or even just a classic brooch are at the cutting edge of fashion,” the designer duo told Opoyi.
