In freezing Yukon, Canadian dancer teaches bhangra in viral video | Watch

In the Canadian territory of
Yukon – a sparsely populated region of the North American nation – in the midst
of surreal wilderness a local resident, Gurdeep Pander, is recently seen in a
viral video, teaching bhangra to his local Francophone community.
The clip features a total of four people
learning steps to the traditional Punjabi dance-form from Pandher, who teaches
them the actions one by one, increasing the tempo eventually through a rhythm
as the moves synchronise into a perfect unison by the end of the video.

Pandher stated that atmospheric temperature
in Yukon at the time hovered around minus 20 degrees Celsius at the time of recording, adding that it felt like minus 30 degrees with the windchill taken into
account.
“When it was -20 degrees C
(feeling like -30 degrees C with windchill) & the pandemic on top of that,
these friends from the Yukon’s French community joined me for a
‘physically-distanced and pandemic-safe’ bhangra class for joy, exercise and positivity,”
he says in the caption of the clip.

Posted about two days back, the
video has so far been viewed more than 1.2 lakh times. Canada-born actor Ryan Reynolds was also among those liking the clip.
As per his website, Pandher moved to
Yukon in 2012 and began teaching bhangra.
