- The singer said he had been trying to get it changed on Google
Singer Kumar Sanu has delivered numerous hits in the 90s. His son, Jayesh Bhattacharya, followed his father’s footsteps and made his singing debut in 2018. He recreated his Kumar Sanu’s popular numbers ‘Dil Mera Churaya Kyun’ from the movie ‘Akele Hum Akele Tum’.
But Jayesh made it to the top of the trends chart earlier this week for a different reason. Graphic artist Akshar Pathak, who is known for his witty illustrations and memes, shared a post saying, “back when I learnt that bappi lahiri has a son named bappa lahiri I thought nothing could possibly ever beat that but today I learnt that kumar sanu has a son named kumar janu.”
The tweet was based on the Google search result for the term ‘Kumar Sanu son’, which picked up the info from Sanu’s Wikipedia page that had been edited by some prankster.
Jayesh though took the joke rather sportingly and replied to Akshar Pathak saying that his name was Jaan Kumar Sanu, and that he was trying to get the Google search result fixed. “Hi, I am Kumar Sanu’s son and my name is Jaan Kumar Sanu. Meme matt bana do yaar,” he tweeted.
“And yess I’ve been trying to get the Google thing changed because Gita pe haath rakh ke kehta hu (I swear on the Bhagavad Gita) I am not Kumar Janu,” he added.
The 26-year-old aspiring musician had in an interview with The Telegraph said that Jaan was his nickname and he had decided to add it to his father’s name for his reputation. “My daknaam is Jaan. Growing up, people in the industry knew me by that name. Since I am following in my father’s footsteps, I decided to take his name,” he told Telegraph.
