Dorrian Glenn, an uncle of Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin, said in an interview with CNN that the 24-year-old footballer had to be resuscitated twice.

“His heart had went out so they had to resuscitate him twice,” he said, further adding,  “They resuscitated him on the field before they brought him to the hospital and then they resuscitated him a second time when they got him to the hospital.”

Glenn, however, said that Hamlin is responding to the treatment. He said, “They sedated him just to give a better chance for him to just continue to heal better. We are just taking it day by day. It seems like he’s trending upwards in a positive way”.

In the interview, Glenn, who was watching the game from Pittsburgh, said that Hamlin has been kept “flipped over on his stomach” since blood has been found in his lungs. He revealed that the doctors will next try to get him to breathe on his own.
