England might have to wait a little longer for their second FIFA World Cup, but the English footballers Kyle Walker and John Stones surely aren’t going home empty-handed from Qatar. They will take back home Dave, a stray cat.

England missed the semi-final berth as France tossed them in the quarterfinal with a 2-1 win.

Walker and Stones have adopted a stray cat and named him ‘Dave’ who used to be with them every night for dinner. They will have to wait for four months before meeting their friend as Dave will be quarantined.

“Dave is welcome to the table… Some people really don’t like the cat, but I love him,” said Stones.

Walker in an interview with the Football Association’s media channel said, “He was just there one day, so we’ve just adopted him.”

French footballers were also asked about the cats by the reporters and Randal Kolo Muani joked “Yes, cats. There are cats who roam outdoors. When we eat outdoors, there are cats strolling around. And Ousmane is scared of them. It makes everyone laugh.”
