Hotel Taj in Rishikesh closed after 76 people test COVID-19 positive

Hotel Taj in Rishikesh has been shut down for three days after 76 people tested positive for COVID-19, ANI reported. Tehri Garhwal SSP, Tripti Bhatt, said the five-star hotel has been sanitised but closed as a precautionary measure.

On Sunday, the Uttarakhand government said the overall COVID-19 situation in the state is under control. As of Sunday, the state reported 99,515 cases and 1,709 death.

The Kumbh Mela is scheduled to begin in the state on April 1 and the government has made it mandatory for devotees to bring a negative RT-PCR report not older than 72 hours or a coronavirus vaccination certificate along with them.
