Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal tests positive for COVID-19 ahead of Thailand Open

  • Sain and fellow shuttler HS Prannoy both have tested positive for COVID-19
  • Both the shuttlers have been withdrawn from the tournament
  • BWF has noted that will be releasing an official statement shortly

Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal tested COVID-19 positive on Tuesday along with fellow player HS Prannoy, as per a tweet by Badminton Association of India (BAI). 

The tweet further informed that both shuttlers have been withdrawn from the tournament, needing to be isolated in hospital for a minimum period of 10 days.

BAI stated that it is in constant touch with Badminton World Federation (BWF), the management to the Indian squad, individual players as well as the organisers.

BWF noted that it will be releasing an official statement shortly.
