In the last 27 innings of IPL 2022, neither Virat Kohli nor Rohit Sharma has scored a fifty plus.

Ravi Shastri, a former India cricketer, has worked closely with Virat Kohli throughout his time as India’s head coach and believes the batter requires a break. Kohli, he believes, should take a leave of absence before or after India’s upcoming tour of England. Shastri stated in an interview with Star Sports.

Shastri remarked in an interview with Star Sports, “When I was coach at the time when this first started, the first thing I said is ‘you have to show empathy to the guys’. If you’re going to be forceful, there is a very thin line there, from a guy losing the plot as opposed to him hanging in there and giving his best. So you have to be extremely careful”.
Rohit Sharma, the captain of the Mumbai Indians (MI), has also had a poor showing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. On Saturday, Rohit Sharma could only manage 6 runs against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Fast bowler Avesh Khan caught Rohit off wicketkeeper Quinton DeKock with a fine ball. Rohit has scored 114 runs in six matches this season, with an average of just 19. As a result, he has a strike rate of 129.54 and a top score of 41 runs.
