Jarrett Allen was trolled on social media for his poor show in Cleveland Cavaliers vs New York Knicks NBA playoff game. The two sides locked horns in Game 5 at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.
“Jarrett Allen being on the bench gives the Cavs a better chance at winning. He’s a liability for all 94 feet,” a Twitter user said.
“Jarrett Allen plays like he can’t wait to get home, wrap himself in a furry blanket, cuddle with his dog, and watch the new episode of his favorite anime tonight,” another one added.
The Cavaliers had been deemed to be the dominating ones in this match, which should have been a significant advantage in their first-round matchup with the Knicks.
They boasted of two elite star players in Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley, a finalist for the Defensive Player of the Year, who would cause problems for the Knicks at both sides of the court in the paint. Sadly, that hasn’t come close to being true after four games.

In fact, Mitchell Robinson has been the series’ best big man and the reason that Knicks may end the Cavaliers’ season on Wednesday by defeating them in Cleveland’s Rocket Mortgage Field House. Allen, on the other hand, has been ineffective, being pushed around by Robinson and the Knicks at times.
Allen had to bear the brunt of the criticism on his social media posts, with people commenting things like, “Basketball is not your passion Jarrett Allen, just go be a computer scientist,” or “Whole Cavs team had looked a bit off from the start, but Jarrett Allen, in particular, had just looked defeated.”

However, in all fairness, many people also supported Allen, claiming that it may just have been a bad day for him. One such person said, “Dude, I love Jarrett Allen, he’s a good dude… he’s having the WORST series you could’ve ever thought he would,” and another stated, “I love Darius Garland and Jarrett Allen. But this whole Cavs team gotta take a looooong look in the mirror this off-season man.”
