Manchester United have registered their third consecutive win in the Premier League this season by beating Leicester City with a scoreline of 1-0 at the King Power Stadium. The only goal in the match came in the first half and was scored by Jadon Sancho. Cristiano Ronaldo, Casemiro, and Harry Maguire started on the bench. The Man United starting lineup was exactly the same as the one Erik ten Hag had fielded against Southampton.
Casemiro, who had played a few minutes in the Southampton match, was subbed on for Anthony Elanga in the second half. Antony, the Brazilian winger whom United signed from Ajax, was unveiled on September 1, and he is expected to begin his career at the club in the upcoming match against Arsenal.

In the first half, both teams traded possession quite frequently. United managed to create some good chances via the impressive link-up play between their forwards. A Christian Eriksen shot from distance went marginally wide of the post.
Sancho’s goal came in the 35th minute of the match when Marcus Rashford passed him the ball in the Leicester box. The 22-year-old rounded off goalkeeper Danny Ward and slid the ball into the net, much to the chagrin of the Foxes faithful.
Ronaldo was subbed on in place of Sancho in the first half. The Portuguese striker did manage to cross the ball into the Leicester box in two clear goalscoring chances, but nothing came off either. Christian Eriksen failed to reach one of Ronaldo’s crosses that the 30-year-old could have tapped into the Leicester goal. ten Hag will surely take notice of this deficiency in pace on Eriksen’s part.
