While Team India head coach Rahul Dravid is not a person of many words, but when he does you sit and listen. But his stirring dressing room speech after the nail-bitting 2nd ODI of the Sri Lanka tour was not one you could listen to sitting, as it was seemingly adrenaline-rushing.   

In a video posted on Twitter by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the former Indian Cricket Team skipper can be seen addressing the whole squad after the match, as he heaved praises on his “champion team” for showcasing fighting spirit when their backs were to the wall.

“They responded but we responded back. Like a champion team, with our backs to the wall, we found a way to win. Very well done to all you, fantastic win,” Dravid said.

The entire squad, pumped up by the stirring speech, cheered in unison.

Furthermore, in the snippet, the players could be seen expressing their views on the thrilling contest between the two teams in Colombo. 

With the ball, Bhuvneshwar Kumar was instrumental for India as he chipped away three crucial wickets, giving away just 54 runs in his 10 overs. 

He said how the team recovered from a poor position to come back and win the match is special.

Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav, who scored his maiden ODI half-century on Tuesday, said, “I think this is one of the best games which I have been part of or I have seen live.” 

The Man of the Match, Deepak Chahar, who scored a crucial 69 of 82 balls to take India over the line, said he was very happy he could contribute with the bat as well as on the field. 

Earlier in the game, Chahar took two wickets from his eight overs. He scalped the wicket of Dhananjaya de Silva who seemed to have found his rhythm but had to depart for 32 off 45 deliveries.

In the game, while chasing a modest target of 276 runs, India lost five wickets for just 116, however, Chahar and Suryakumar Yadav carried them over the line with five balls to spare. With the win, India have already sealed the three-match series.
