‘Rohit Sharma more talented than Virat Kohli’ says Pakistani opener Imam Ul Haq

Virat Kohli has remained the most prolific run-getter from India since Sachin Tendulkar’s retirement in 2013. The right-hander from Delhi has scored over 23,000 runs in international cricket across formats. India’s current captain Rohit Sharma is the second highest run-getter for India amongst the non-retired Indian players.

Pakistan’s One-day opener Imam Ul Haq has sparked the Kohli vs Rohit debate for fans of both these Indian batting Giants.
Talking to Samaa News Imam Said ‘’I feel that that talent Rohit Sharma has, Virat Kohli does not. I have seen them both play but the way Rohit plays it seems as if he is batting in Replay. Virat Kohli has batted in front of me, and so has Rohit Sharma but Rohit has been gifted with a lot of time by God. He is one player who can change the game in seconds. When he is set, he can hit at will.’’

Imam’s statement has opened the door to debate for fans and cricket pundits. This statement has come when Virat Kohli is going in the worst batting form of his career. Both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are in England for the limited over series against Jos Buttler’s boys. Rohit smacked a fiery 76* (58) in the first ODI as India beat England by 10 wickets at The Oval.

Virat missed the first One-Dayer due to a niggle. His participation in the second ODI is also uncertain. Virat’s drought for runs in recent times has made several former cricketers advise the 33-year-old former India captain. India’s first world cup-winning captain Kapil Dev recently said that Virat, based on his form, can be dropped just like Ashwin, the world number 2 test bowler. is usually dropped from the test playing XI.

Rohit was asked to react to this statement to which he replied ‘’No one knows what is happening inside the team. We do not hear the outside’s voice much. Virat brings so much quality to our batting line-up and we will back him.’
