Sachin Tendulkar shares ‘wonderful gift’ that Brian Lara, Chris Gayle gave him on retirement

Indian batting great Sachin Tendulkar retired from international cricket seven years ago, on November 16. He played his last match at his home ground Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Seven years post his retirement, the cricketer shared with his fans the “wonderful gift” the West Indies Cricket Board and his friends, cricketers Brian Lara and Chris Gayle gave him on his retirement.

“On this day 7 years ago @windiescricket and my friends @BrianLara & @henrygayle presented me with this beautiful steel drum,” the cricketing icon tweeted on Monday.

“I will always be grateful for such a wonderful gift and thank them for their love and respect,” he added.

In the video, he shared on his Twitter handle, Sachin recollected when Brian Lara had come to his home and played the drums. “It sounded amazing,” he said.

“Let’s see if I can play a bit. I know it’s not gonna sound like that but this is my tribute to all of you. Thank you for everything that you have done for me,” the cricketer said, before playing the instrument.
