NFL fans were handed a shock on Thursday, September 1, when news broke out that NFL superstar quarterback Tom Brady has been in a series of fights with his wife Gisele Bundchen, following which the latter left her Florida home for Costa Rica.

On October 4, Tuesday, another report was published which said that Bardy and Bundchen have hired divorce lawyers and are set to officially split soon.

As per reports, the fights were a result of Brady’s decision to come out of retirement, which lasted only six weeks.

Gisele has previously revealed publicly that it is she who takes care of the children in the family. She has two children with Tom Brady and also is the stepmother of her husband’s firstborn son Jack. According to her, Brady’s sole focus has always been on his career, while she has taken care of the children. The couple married on February 26, 2009, and in the last 13 years, have fought on multiple issues, but have reunited eventually.

Relationship timeline:

After breaking up with popular Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio in 2005, Gisele Bundchen began dating Tom Brady in December 2006. They met through a mutual friend, who introduced them on a blind date.

Gisele later revealed that she knew right at that time that Brady was the ‘one’.

“The moment I saw him, he smiled and I was like, ‘That is the most beautiful, charismatic smile I’ve ever seen!’” She told Vanity Fair in 2009.

The couple decided to marry on February 26, 2009, at a Catholic church in Santa Monica, California. Two months later, they married once again in a ceremony that took place in Costa Rica.

When the couple were dating for only two months, Brady’s first-born child with ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan was born. While Gisele called it a “very challenging situation”, she later termed Jack, the newborn baby, a blessing.

Bundchen gave birth to Benjamin, the couple’s first child, a boy, in December 2009 in home birth. Their second child, Vivian, a girl, was born in December 2012 in yet another home birth.

The Brazilian supermodel continued her career after marrying Brady but supported her husband all the years. She has actively supported Brady both in the stadium and on social media.

In September 2015, a rumour got traction that the couple was filing for divorce. However, both Brady and Gisele confirmed it was untrue and that they are in “a great place.”

It was reported that Brady was convinced by Gisele to retire from his career, which he announced in February 2022. However, the retirement was only six weeks long with Brady announcing his return later.

At the time, however, Brady seemed to have his Victoria Secret model wife’s support. “Here we go again! Let’s go lovvvey! Let’s go Bucs!” Gisele Bundchen had said. But she was uncharacteristically absent from Brady’s first game in the season.

In September 2022, Gisele Bundchen expressed her concerns with regard to Tom Brady continuing to play football. “Obviously, I have my concerns — this is a very violent sport, and I have my children and I would like him to be more present.
