Trinbago Knight Riders stay unbeaten in Caribbean Premier League after first week

Trinbago Knight Riders remained unbeaten at the end of the first week of the Caribbean Premier League after beating Barbados Tridents by 19 runs on Sunday. 

Colin Munro scored 50 from 30 balls to set the platform while Darren Bravo and Kieron Pollard combined in an unbeaten 98-run stand to lift the Knight Riders to 185-3. Bravo remained unbeaten on 54 from 36 balls and Pollard smashed  41 from 17 balls. Tridents were able to score 166-8 while chasing.

The Knight Riders now top the league standings having won all the three matches. The St. Lucia Zouks won by 10 runs against Guyana Amazon Warriors on Sunday. The Zouks were able to restrict Guyana to 134-8 after Roston Chase’s 66 helped them reach 144-7. 

The Caribbean Premier League is the first domestic T20 league to start after all cricket activities were on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Indian Premier League is set to start in the UAE from September 19
