Hamlin suffered a major injury after which he was administered AED and CPR on the field and was taken to the UC Medical Center in an ambulance from the field.
Nina Hamlin traveled to the hospital with him, as per reports.
He is in critical condition and the game was suspended by the NFL after players of both teams refused to play on.
“Tonight’s Buffalo Bills-Cincinnati Bengals game has been postponed after Buffalo Bills’ Damar Hamlin collapsed, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced,” a statement released by the NFL said.
“Hamlin received immediate medical attention on the field by the team and independent medical staff and local paramedics. He was then transported to a local hospital where he is in critical condition. Our thoughts are with Damar and the Buffalo Bills.”
“We will provide more information as it becomes available. The NFL has been in constant communication with the NFL Players Association which is in agreement with postponing the game.”
Luke Jones of the WKRC Local 12 reported that Hamlin suffered the injury at 8:56 pm local time. He was taken to the nearby UC Medical Center by 9:30 pm local time.
As per the latest update from the facility, his condition is critical.
