“The administrative leave, effective immediately, is not disciplinary under the Joint Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, and Child Abuse Policy,” MLB stated in the statement.

According to the Tamp Bay Times, the statement added, “We support Major League Baseball’s decision to place Wander Franco on Administration Leave. High standards of honesty are something that the Tampa Bay Rays are committed to sustaining both on and off the pitch. We are grateful for our supporters’ patience and understanding.”
