Aqib Talib’s brother Yaqub has been named the prime suspect in  youth football training coach Mike Hickmon’s killing in Lancaster, Texas. Several on social media expressed their condolences.

As per reports, the two brothers were present during the incident and fired shots.

Aqib Talib is a former NFL cornerback. The 36-year-old Cleveland, Ohio-based player has represented the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New England Patriots, Denver Broncos, and Los Angeles Rams. 

Talib won Super Bowl 50 with Denver. After retiring in 2020, he made his debut as an analyst for Fox announcing a game between the Detroit Lions and Washington Football Team. 

Aqib Talib  played school football at the University of Kansas. He was picked by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the principal round of the 2008 NFL Draft.

Aqib was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Theodore Henry and Okolo Talib. He is the youngest of four siblings – Saran, Kai and Yaqub. His name, in Arabic, translates to ‘last one’. 

Aqib Talib’s parents divorced when he was young. When he was in the eighth grade, his mother moved to Richardson, Texas with him and his older brother.

Talib attended Berkner High School in Richardson, Texas. He was named in the football team’s Defensive Back of the Year during his senior year. In track & field, he was a member of the 4 × 100m (43.05) and 4 × 200m (1:32.77) relay squads.

The 36-year-old was then recruited by Kansas, Wyoming, Tulsa, Arizona, Kansas State, and Baylor. He chose to play for Kansas.
