Jerry Jeudy was detained on May 12, 2022, in Arapahoe County, Colorado, and charged with a misdemeanour, second-degree criminal tampering with a domestic violence enhancer. A supposed non violent altercation between him and his girlfriend is what led to the arrest. The charges have since been dropped.

Who is Jerry Jeudy?

Jerry Jeudy is an American football wide receiver for the Denver Broncos of the National Football League (NFL). Born on April 24, 1999, he played college football at Alabama and was drafted by the Broncos in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. In his sophomore year in college, he was awarded the Fred Biletnikoff Award, awarded every year to the best wide receiver in college football.

Jeudy enrolled early at Alabama and took part in spring practice for the 2017 campaign. During his true freshman year, Jeudy had a total of 14 receptions for 264 yards and two scores. Jeudy was the clear favourite to win the Biletnikoff Award again going into his junior season as a unanimous preseason All-American. With 959 receiving yards and 9 touchdowns at the end of the regular season, he was nominated to the first team of the SEC. He finished his junior year with six receptions for 204 yards and a score in the Citrus Bowl victory over Michigan for the Crimson Tide. Jeudy declared in January 2020 that he would miss his senior year and instead declare for the 2020 NFL Draft. 

The Denver Broncos selected Jeudy with the 15th overall choice in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Jeudy and the organisation agreed to a 4-year, $15.192 million contract on July 23, 2020, along with a $8.6 million signing bonus.

In the season opener against the Tennessee Titans on September 14, 2020, Jeudy made his NFL debut, recording four receptions for 56 yards in the 14-16 defeat. Jeudy caught his first professional touchdown pass in Week 4 on Thursday Night Football against the New York Jets, going 48 yards on a Brett Rypien pass.

In Week 1 of the 2021 season against the New York Giants, Jeudy had six receptions for 72 yards before leaving the game due to a high ankle sprain. On September 14, 2021, he was placed on injured reserve adn was activated back on October 30. Jeudy had 38 receptions for 467 yards and no touchdowns by the end of the 2021 season.
