Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown is an American football wide receiver for the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League (NFL). Born on June 4, 1997, he played college football at Oklahoma and was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft. 

At college, he set an Oklahoma record for receiving yards in a single game with 265 yards versus Oklahoma State. Brown declared for the 2019 NFL Draft on January 2, 2019, saying he would forgo his final year of eligibility. The Baltimore Ravens choose Brown with the 25th overall pick in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He was chosen as the first wide receiver. On June 7, 2019, he signed his rookie contract.

Brown faced the Miami Dolphins in Week 1 of the regular season, making four receptions for 147 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Brown became the only player in NFL history to score two touchdowns of 40 yards or more in his debut game while only participating in 14 snaps. In Week 15, Brown tied the Ravens franchise record for most receiving touchdowns by a rookie when he caught his seventh touchdown pass in a 42-21 victory over the New York Jets. Behind tight end Mark Andrews, Brown was the Ravens’ second-leading receiver at the end of the season.

Week 1 saw Brown have five grabs for 101 receiving yards as the Cleveland Browns were defeated 38-6. Brown made one reception for a three-yard touchdown in Week 8’s 24-28 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Due to his lack of participation in the Ravens’ offence, Brown tweeted following the game, “What’s the point of having souljas when you never use them (Never!! ),” which was then deleted. On December 16, 2020, the team placed him on the reserve/COVID-19 list, and he was activated three days later. Brown had 769 yards and eight touchdowns at the end of the regular season.

Following a change in the NFL’s jersey number regulations in 2021, Brown switched his jersey number from #15 to #5. Brown has six receptions for 113 yards and a score in Week 2’s matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs. His third 100-yard game in the regular season of his career, it was also his first since Week 1 of the 2020 campaign. The Ravens would come back to defeat the opponent 36–35. Brown had a career-high nine receptions for 125 yards and two touchdowns in Week 5’s game against the Indianapolis Colts, including the game-winning reception.

Brown and the third-round pick of the Ravens were dealt to the Arizona Cardinals on the first day of the 2022 NFL Draft in exchange for the 23rd overall pick. Additionally, the transaction brought Kyler Murray, Brown’s college quarterback, back together. On April 28, 2022, the Cardinals exercised the fifth-year option on Brown’s contract.

Marquise Brown’s cousin is Antonio Brown. When Brown was a student at Oklahoma, sportscaster Gus Johnson gave him the moniker ‘Hollywood.’ Brown was detained in north Phoenix on August 3, 2022 at 7:05 AM, charged with felony speeding, and taken to the Maricopa County Jail.
